Giving Opportunities
Major Fundraising
General Fund — We will apply your donation to the areas with the greatest need.
Building Renovation Fund — To maintain and refurbish the building.
Herman J Frigand Kol Nidre Appeal — Provides vital support for the religious, educational and social programming that MJCBY provides.
Clergy Funds
Rabbi's Discretionary Fund — For the rabbi's support of Tzedakah and Gemilut Chasadim.
Cantor's Discretionary Fund — To support music, special concerts and other activities and programs organized by the Cantor.
Caring Funds
Chevra Kadisha (Burial Society) Fund — To help cover the cost of materials, supplies and additional training for the members of the Chevra Kadisha. The synagogue’s Chevra Kadisha acts as Shomrim (Guards) and/or prepares the body for burial on request.
**Gemilut Chasadim Fund — To provide food for shiva and when congregational members are unable to prepare food due to illness or otherwise.
Social Action Fund — To support the community soup kitchen and homeless needs by providing school bags and supplies to underprivileged children.
Education
Alex Csillag Memorial Fund — To support musical programs.
Educational Endowment — Used to support the costs of education at the synagogue.
**Shalom Yeladim Nursery School Fund — To support scholarship and extra curricular activities for Shalom Yeladim Nursery School.
Frigand Minyonaires & Israel Experience Fund — For extra activities not covered in the budget for Minyonaires, a Hebrew High School stipend, and to subsidize the cost of teen trips to Israel or other USCJ teen programs.
History & Preservation
History Fund — To cover costs of preserving and preparing materials for presentations regarding MJCBY history.
Yahrzeit Fund — To purchase and repair prayerbooks, Chumashim (Bibles) and Library Books.
Shabbat Meals at the Shul
Shabbat Dinner Fund — We provide a delicious dinner every Shabbat from our own kitchen, prepared by volunteers. This fund supports the cost of the food we serve.
Kiddush Fund — This is where you can make a donation to sponsor a kiddush lunch.
