An Alternative High Holy Day Worship Experience

Come Along with Us on a Journey with Rabbi Amy Joy Small

The Holy Days convey great spiritual power to take us on a journey of self-reflection, insight, honesty, repentance and new directions for becoming and reclaiming our best selves. When we enter the journey of the Days of Awe with open hearts, it can take us to inspired, renewed, uplifted places.

Our approach to creating a journey experience includes these elements:

  • Contemporary melodies with traditional ones; Hebrew and English
  • Evocative poetry
  • Kavannot (spiritual intentions) to guide us on the journey
  • Torah and Haftarah stories to bring the readings to life
  • Shortened Torah readings, highlighting the message of the reading
  • Sermon-Dialogue — a brief presentation followed by discussion
  • Visual images to enhance the service themes

There are some unique aspects to the “High Holiday Experience” — each day is designed as a complete experience for that day.

Come along on the journey with us if you are seeking an alternative to traditional services. Join us!
