Please let me introduce myself. I joined MJCBY's Shalom Yeladim preschool as its director at the beginning of the 2024-25 school year and have more than 25 years of experience working with children between the ages of 2 and 10, including children with special needs.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Family Studies and a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire. During my time at the Charlotte Jewish Preschool, I discovered the joy of incorporating Jewish traditions into my students’ lives. It was very satisfying to celebrate Shabbat on Friday mornings with songs and stories, bake challah together, and teach about Jewish holidays such as Hanukkah, Passover, and Sukkot. I loved organizing special events like Purim carnivals and Tu B’Shevat tree-planting activities, to help children connect with their cultural heritage in meaningful ways.
I have always cherished the relationships that I've built with the families of my students. A strong, supportive community is vital to a child’s success, and I work diligently towards ths end. I am committed to creating a welcoming space where every student feels supported academically, emotionally, and culturally.
My family lives in Madison and includes my husband Harry and our three children — Matthew, Morgan, and Madison.
If we haven't met, I look forward to the opportunity.
