We have a long-standing commitment to the community at MJCBY. We demonstrate that commitment through our Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) activities. All volunteering opportunities are announced in our monthly Newsletter and in our weekly announcements.
Please contact Lou Bodian for more information or to volunteer.
- Every year we participate in the Greater MetroWest Community Mitzvah Day where we:
- Assemble breakfast bags and other essentials for local residents in need
- Assemble fully stocked backpacks for HeadStart children and older students
- Collect needed essentials for those less fortunate
- Once a month, we prepare and serve dinner to the residents at Homeless Solutions, a local shelter. Join our team in this gratifying activity.
- In conjunction with the High Holidays, we ask congregants to bring non-perishable food and personal sanitary goods, which, after the Holidays, are distributed to the social service agencies we support:
- NourishNJ (formerly the Community Soup Kitchen)
- Table of Hope
- Homeless Solutions
- We encourage our congregants to sign up to package and serve lunches at NourishNJ
