Website Governance

Introduction

  • The website is our digital front door on the Internet
  • For people who do not know us, our website is how we make our first impression — if our website is not attractive and engaging, and the content current, it will be a turnoff to potential members
  • Most aspects of synagogue life intersect with the website — there are many stakeholders who are responsible for its content
  • Having defined roles and processes for the care and feeding of the website is essential for it to be well maintained

RACI: Website Roles and Responsibilities

RACI is a four-level responsibility assignment model widely used in orgnizational systems. Wikipedia offers this definition of the RACI Model.

These are the assignments for the governance of the website at MJCBY:

  • Accountable: Executive Director
  • Consulted: Volunteers who create content, President(s), Vice President(s), Rabbi, Cantor
